All In Review

All In Review

All in kicked off with Cody Rhodes & Young Bucks doing their part to get the crowd hyped up. Lead to some funny shots taken at WWE with the Pyro and brought  Chicago wrestling legend Road Warrior Animal who came out on a motorcycle to a big pop. Young Bucks would also do what they always do and hype up some merchandise.

SoCalUncensored ( Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) Defeats The Briscoes

Rating: 2.5 Stars

Thoughts: Just a typical ROH tag team match, With SCU getting the win i expect them to get a tag team title shot in the near future. Nothing new here but it was the best choice to open the show.

Flip Gordon wins the Over The Budget Battle Royal by eliminating Bully Ray in the end. Flip Gordon will now challenge Jay Lethal for the ROH World Heavyweight Title later in the show

Rating: 3 Stars

Thoughts: A well put together battle royal that mixed comedy with work rate in a very enjoyable way. Some great moments throughout the match whether it was Billy Gunn and his son Austin Gunn embracing, The Hurricane chokeslamming Brian Cage, or hell even the ending when everyone thought Bully Ray won only for Flip Gordon to take a mask off to eliminate him. This battle royal did what it needed, let the fans have a good time and get Gordon on the card which was one of the main stories leading into the show.

Matt Cross Defeats MJF Via Shooting Star Press

Rating : 2.5 Stars

Thoughts : The show opened up the actual PPV portion of All In and did it with a very good hee; vs babyface match that was quite entertaining. Great workrate with some good work by both men. MJF has a bright future in the business but Matt Cross going over on this supercard was the correct move.

“The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels Defeats  “The Green Arrow” Stephen Amell Via Best Moonsault Ever. After the match they shake hands and show each other some respect.

Rate: 3 Stars
Thoughts: This was quite actually a very good match workrate wise which is odd for me to say. Stephen Amell has trained hard for this match it payed off and Daniels protected him and we even got to see a cool table spot. This might be the best celebrity match i have seen in pro wrestling and a proper respect goes to both men for this match.

Tessa Blanchard Defeats Brit Baker, Chelsea Green, & Madison Rayne Via Hammerlock DDT On Green.

Rate: 3 Stars

Thoughts: This match was every bit as good as i expected it to be, the only downfall of this match had to be it being underhyped and the finish looked botched. Tessa Blanchard winning at the same show the NWA is represented is just pure beautiful irony. Tessa winning was the best choice as she is the hottest female in the indies right now.

“The American Nightmare” Cody Defeats “The National Treasure” Nick Aldis Via Rollup & Wins NWA World's Heavyweight Title

Rating: 4 Stars

Thoughts: Now this might not be the best work rate match but god the story told her is such a beautiful thing. DDP using the Diamond cutter on Davari made me pop and seeing the story of how Brandi risked herself for Cody was such a cool moment in the match. Now this match went about 8 minutes to long and both men were getting sluggish but honestly the story they told overtrumps work rate  when it's done this good. Nick Aldis also deserves much credit for bringing the NWA back to this level and now we will see Cody take it to the next level.

Hangman Page Defeats Joey Janela Via Right To Passage off a ladder on Janela Through a table. After the match,People in penis costumes walk down the ring as we see the awaited return of Joey Ryan and the crowd erupts. Joey Ryan confronts Page and Ryan dick flips him and the crowd pops loud.

Rate: 4 Stars

Thoughts:  This match was just a brutal spot fest war with 2 of the best athletes in the business. These spots were insane and very well done as this match really helped make Page look unhinged. But in all honestly i felt like Janela should of won to establish his name to a bigger audience by beating a Bullet Club member.

This match had great spots and tied in the Hangman Pae story from Being The Elite in a great way. Seeing Joey Ryan on this big of a stage made my heart smile as he is just a entertaining guy the crowd always loves.

“Black Machismo” Jay Lethal defeats Flip Gordon Via All Hail To The King & Retains Roh World Heavyweight Title. After the match Bully Ray comes out and attacks a helpless Jay Lethal & Flip Gordon. Lanny Poffo tries to stand up to Bully Ray but he gets laid out too only for Chicago made Colt Cabana to run down to the ring and take down Bully Ray. Flip Gordon, Jay Lethal, & Colt Cabana put Bully Ray through a table.

Rate: 3.5 Stars

Thoughts: A wonderful match to change the pace of the show after we saw dick flips and ladder spots. Jay Lethal using the black machismo gimmick one last time made me  mark out for the whole match. Flip Gordon again proves why he is the future of ROH by coming close one more time only for him to lose. I have no big complaints with this match as it was what i expected it to be.

“The Cleaner” Kenny Omega Defeats Penta El Cero Via One Winged Angel.. After the match the lights come come out and come back with Pena El Cero lays out Kenny Omega and Penta takes his mask and it is CHRIS JERICHO!!!! Jericho challenges Kenny Omega to match for the Jericho cruise.

Rate: 5 Stars

Thoughts: This match was so insane, i could've watched these 2 men go for a hour and still want more. This match was hard hitting and had some great reversal and timing we even got to see the famous Penta arm break which i marked out for. Penta El Cero proved he can go toe to toe with the IWGP heavyweight champion on a big stage.

The shocking arrival of Chris Jericho blew the roof off the stage, After saying he would not be at All In he does what he always does and shocks the world. The Jericho Cruise is expected to be so good and for those who go see it i feel they will see a long list of 5 star matches.

Kazuchika Okada Defeats Marty Scurll Via Rainmaker

Rate: 4.5 Stars

Thoughts: Back to back amazing matches, great textbook wrestling along with just a crazy crowd that made very minute great. The issue with this match was the timing of the card and the match should not of went 25 minutes as of the weight difference in NJPW matches. The legend of the match would go on to hurt the overall PPV as it caused the Main event to be reduced in time.

The Golden Elite ( Young Bucks & Kota Ibushi) defeats Rey Mysterio Jr, Bandido Jr, & Rey Fenix Via Meltzer Driver On Bandido Jr.

Rate: 4 Stars

Thoughts : The match was as spotty as your going to see, but with it being that it does what it is expected. Fast paced high spot at its finest with all 6 guys getting some great spots in. The match was very rushed and you could see the panic in the final minutes of the match which did cause some botches by Young Bucks and by the ref. Overall a great match but should of had more time (Looking at you Okada & Scurll)

Overall Thoughts Of All In: All in was perhaps the best Independent wrestling show in recent memory, It had all kinds of different styles it had High spots, it had storytelling, Violence, Comedy and whatever the dick flips is genre-wise. This should be a yearly event as it being a full supercard really works and fits well in the pro wrestling landscape.

Final Grade : A-
