Is Marvel Spiderman The Best Super Hero Game?




When we talk about superhero video games there have been some very bad ones (Any superman game, Spiderman 3, or Thor) But, over time we have seen some great (nearly perfect) superhero based video games. Games like The Batman Arkham Series, The X-Men games, The Infamous series, and Spiderman 2. 

I'm here to argue that Marvel Spiderman is not only the best Spider-Man game but the best superhero game to ever release. Marvel Spiderman took a comic book character who has not had a good game in 2 console generations and made him relevant. The last good Spider-Man game was Spider-Man 2 which was released all the way back in 2004. That is 14 years of average and below average games for the web crawler.

Why do I think it is the best Superhero game of all time? What makes it different than Batman Arkham or even better than Spider-Man 2? Marvel Spider-Man does a perfect job pleasing the comic book, movie and video game versions of fans of Spider-Man. This is the first video game where I can remember at times feeling like I was the hero and not just playing a character. 

Marvel Spider-Man has the best map of all time and it rivals the boss battles of Batman Arkham City & Batman Arkham Asylum. It did a good job of taking a comic book story and twisting to keep fans guessing as well as respecting the comic book story. This game gave me all I ever wanted, a great open world with easter eggs of the rich history of Spider-Man lore, Great boss battles, a unique story with emotional attachment. & A full city with things to do (Looking at you Batman Arkham Knight). 

In 10 years I think we will look back at this game and remember it in the good light as one of the best video games to ever hit the rich library of the PlayStation 4. A game so good a reignited a fake console war between Xbox & Playstation fans. A Game so good that it could beat another one of the greatest PS4 games (God Of War) as the game of the year. 


So is Marvel Spider-Man the best superhero game of all time? In my opinion, it has leaped over the Batman Arkham series and has set a new standard of what an open world superhero video game is supposed to be. So yes Marvel Spider-Man is the best superhero game of all time and it's arguably the best open world game of all time.

My Experience With MLB The Show 19

As a sports enthusiast, I always get excited when the release of a new sport comes out. MLB The Show is the first sports video game release of the year, I spent 3 days with the game and have tried every mode that the game offers. This is not a review of the game just an everyday normal guy having an experience. After the game finished downloaded ( which takes forever these days), I went through the typical tutorials which have not changed from last year. Finished that and got my settings and controller figured out so I jump into an exhibition, as a Cubs fan I choose them and face off against the defending champs the Boston Red Sox. The gameplay has changed a small bit to a point where you feel the changes but until hour 6 I couldn’t tell you what those improvements were. The fielding felt smoother, The batting stances were way more accurate than they have been in recent years.
